Jake Paul and Mike Tyson faced off against one another in the first-ever live-stream sporting event on Netflix. The result of the event being live-streamed in this way led to a record 65 million concurrent streamers watching the boxing event all at once, according to Most Value Promotions.
Read more: Fans Irate With Netflix After Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Fight Becomes Unwatchable
Naturally, Netflix may not have accounted for the millions of people who were attempting to watch the fight all at once. The strain on the servers led to countless issues with streaming quality, buffering, and access. Thousands of people began to record their problems online.
As a result of the poor streaming quality, a class action lawsuit has now been filed in Florida. A man by the name of Ronald "Blue" Denton has filed the lawsuit, which states that around 90,000 people lost the ability to watch the live-streamed fight.
Denton filed the lawsuit in Hillsborough County, Florida on Monday, accusing Netflix of breach of contract and deceptive trade practices.
NBC Chicago contacted Netflix for a response to the troubles and was told, in part, "nothing to comment on at this time."
According to a report from WFAA, the lawsuit indicates that viewers "were faced with legendary problems, including no access, streaming glitches, and buffering issues."
Additionally, "60 million Americans were hyped to see 'Iron' Mike Tyson, 'The Baddest Man on the Planet' versus YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul. What they saw was 'The Baddest Streaming on the Planet'," the lawsuit stated.
So far, Netflix has not commented on the issues stemming from the quality of the fight to many households.
Many are now concerned that Netflix will have the same issues when the NFL heads to the streamer for the first time on Christmas. Two games are set to be shown on the streamer: the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans.
More news: New BTS Video Shows Jake Paul Reacting to Mike Tyson Viral Bare Butt Video
Despite the growing concerns, ESPN's Dan Graziano stated that the NFL is already doing its due diligence to ensure the same issues will not be replicated. According to Graziano's report:
"The buffering problems that Netflix had with the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight Friday raised some eyebrows around the league since the NFL is scheduled to broadcast two Christmas Day games on Netflix this year. Obviously it would cause a major uproar if the stream cut out or froze in the middle of a spectacular Lamar Jackson scramble or Patrick Mahomes deep throw to the end zone.
The NFL did check in with Netflix following the Tyson-Paul fight to ask about the problems and assess the likelihood that they could repeat themselves on Christmas. Netflix said the fight reached 60 million homes, and apparently part of the explanation to the league was that the unprecedented scale for them of broadcasting a live sporting event contributed to some of the challenges they faced."

5 Teams That Might Prevent the Inevitable Threepeat
At long last the worst part of the sports calendar is finally behind us! No longer do we have to desperately suckle at the teat of baseball while we wait for the real action to begin. That’s the good news. The bad news? It’s still the Chiefs’ world and we’re all living in it.
After losing to the Raiders on Christmas Day last year, Kansas City finally looked vulnerable. The offense was broken, MVS needed body guards just to go to the store, and their first ever road trip in the postseason was looming. But any doubts of how inevitable Mahomes truly is at this point have surely been quelled by this latest run as he led the Chiefs through a road trip from hell, going through the Bills and Ravens in their houses, before beating arguably the most complete Niners’ team in the last 30 years in their division rivals’ home stadium to earn the third ring in his already legendary career.
So if a Chiefs team with as many weaknesses as this one had could go through that brutal of a postseason lineup and still win it all, what team can possibly dethrone the Back-to-Back champs after they addressed their offensive deficiencies by drafting the fastest player in NFL Combine history? Well the god honest truth is, probably none! But who are we to tell you watching this season is a complete waste of time for 31 fanbases! For those of you getting high off hopium like us, here’s 5 teams that MIGHT have a shot at preventing the first ever threepeat.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Don’t be so quick to give up on Russ and Justin Fields in an Arthur Smith offense could be a game chang……we’re just fucking with you lol
Houston Texans
As unbelievable as Mahomes’ debut as the starter in his second year was, C.J. Stroud had one of the greatest rookie seasons of all time. And Houston has done everything possible to ensure he doesn’t experience a Sophomore slump with key additions such as Stefon Diggs, Joe Mixon, and even his college tight end in Cade Stover along with returning stars in Nico Collins and Tank Dell.
Pairing Danielle Hunter with Defensive Rookie of the year Will Anderson should also give Demeco Ryans all the firepower he needs to put opposing QBs’ asses in the turf as well. The real question is whether or not they’re ready to swim in the deep end of the AFC pool. If so, Stroud just might establish himself as the new sheriff in town and Diggs might not have to watch the Chiefs celebrate from the sideline for once.
Cincinnati Bengals
If there has been one boogeyman in Patrick Mahomes’ career, it’s Joe Burrow. Under Burrow, the Bengals have gone 3-1 against Kansas City, with the one loss coming in a highly controversial AFC Championship game where the Chiefs kept getting mulligans on 3rd & 9 due to officiating fuckery.
The Bengals missed the playoffs last year at least in part due to injuries and will be without now former Offensive Coordinator Brian Callahan for the first time in Joe Burrow’s career. There’s also the ongoing contractual issues with Cincinnati’s favorite super weapon Ja’Marr Chase that may result in him missing games. Time will tell what kind of impact all of this will have, but at the very least the real Slim Shady appears to have stood back up.
Detroit Lions
Legitimately, is there a more fun team in football than the Detroit Lions right now? The perfect meld of old school ground and pound, new age passing concepts, and a Head Coach jacked on borderline lethal levels of espresso. While it’s easy to point out that the Lions already beat the back-to-back champs to kick start the 2023 season (in their house no less), it’s important to note that two of the Chiefs most important players in Travis Kelce and Chris Jones missed that game. The latter of which, doesn’t get nearly enough credit for both of the Chief’s Super Bowl wins over another team featured in this article (oops spoiler alert).
What Detroit…..devout? Dedicated? Whatever the fuck their fans call themselves, should focus on is how much better they got throughout the year and how they had the Chiefs’ eventual Super Bowl opponent (spoiler spoiler spoiler!!!!) on the ropes until a miraculous halftime comeback for the ages. With an offensive line that imposes its will in a manner that would make Weinstein blush, a dynamic duo at RB in Gibbs & Montgomery, an alpha Receiver & an end-zone magnet Tight End, a force off the edge who finished 2nd in QB pressures last year (101) and a QB who can reliably orchestrate it all, the Lions have all the ingredients to put a dent in the Kansas City dynasty.
San Francisco 49ers
Pure seething hatred alone might will this victory into existence. Seriously, what did Kyle Shanahan do to the scriptwriters to make them hate him so much. Popping Dre Greenlaw’s Achilles in a Super Bowl this team was dominating early on? A muffed punt? And let’s not forget the overtime debacle, that added a nice twist from the last time Mahomes & Co ripped the Faithfuls’ hearts out of their chest. Tinfoil hats aside, this team’s sexual frustration has to make Tiger Woods look celibate.
All of that said, why include them as a threat to a Quarterback they’ve literally never beaten? Well for starters, Vegas has them neck and neck with Kansas City to win it all and we all know how much they hate losing (right right off with the tinfoil hat). But more importantly Brock Purdy, every analysts’ favorite punching bag, took Mahomes and this dynastic roster to overtime on the biggest stage in his first full season as a starter. San Francisco just has to hope him having a proper offseason is enough to overcome all the Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams drama and they just might have a shot at finally getting out from Andy Reid’s shadow. Week 7 will offer a nice preview of this one.
Baltimore Ravens
Ah yes, it all comes down to the the matchup that will kick start the whole 2024 ride in approximately 3 hours from the time of this writing. Baltimore has been the standard of the NFL from the Front Office down in the Lamar Jackson era. Yet despite being the darlings of the analytics community in that time, they’ve only won one of five matchups against Mahomes’ Chiefs. Which begs the question is this really a rivalry?
Despite being NFL Royalty against the rest of the league, Baltimore needs something more to gain the edge over the Chiefs and maybe just maybe, that something is a King.
After helping end Baltimore’s season just a few short years ago, Derrick Henry is now hoping to help the Ravens extend their season one more game than last year and cement the legacy of his reign with a Lombardi Trophy. If Henry has lost a step, it’s hard to envision this team toppling Kansas City with key losses to their Defense and O-Line. But if he can be the transformational piece the Ravens signed him to be, they just might have the best chance at ending the dynasty…..well maybe for a year.

Superstar Beyoncé will headline the highly electrifying halftime performance for the special Netflix NFL Christmas Day game between the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens. Houston-born Beyoncé, 43, posted on her Instagram page a teaser video promoting the event to be held at NRG Stadium. As the NFL's first edition on Netflix, the game is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT. In the ad, Beyoncé wears a red, white, and blue outfit as she stands on a car partially covered in roses. Among the teaser shots is her catching a football to give a sporty feel. The license plate reads "BRNCNTRY," referring to her highly acclaimed album Cowboy Carter. It features one of her tracks, American Requiem, but ends with an intense close-up of the music legend. J.ébey, CC BY-SA 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0, via Wikimedia Commons It follows another record-breaking achievement of Beyoncé, who recently broke the record for most-ever nominations by any artist. She received 11 nominations from her latest album, Cowboy Carter. She has gained 99 nominations throughout a career, thus that an artist has ever received. She puts her in the history books as the most-nominated artist at the Grammys, a title she shares with her husband, Jay-Z. Her nods also run dramatically across pop, country, Americana and melodic rap performance fields. What is striking is that this is for the first time Beyoncé has ever received a nomination in country and Americana categories. Some of the notable songs like Texas Hold 'Em rank in Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Country Song. Winning for Album of the Year would make her the first Black woman to win since the turn of the 21st century—a feat not reached since 1999, when Lauryn Hill won for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. This year, stiff competition awaits the Grammys in the guise of artists nominated multiple times, namely, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Post Malone, and Charli XCX. Some of the tracks among the songs vying for the Song of the Year award are Beyoncé's Texas Hold 'Em, Eilish's Birds of a Feather, Swift and Post Malone's Fortnight, and the viral hit A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Shaboozey. Another first-timer is Shaboozey, who sings on Beyoncé's SPAGHETTII, and is recognized with Linda Martell. Valuable in itself was the partnership, as Martell is 83 and a trailblazer for women in country music, and this is her first lifetime nod. The halftime show, coming from Jesse Collins Entertainment and Parkwood Entertainment, will be perhaps the best holiday program. Beyoncé's performance further celebrates not only her roots in Houston but also marks an influence in music and entertainment, and this is forever. Fans who have been waiting for her to debut on Netflix also get another reason to celebrate: the 2025 Grammy Awards, which air February 2 on CBS and Paramount+ from Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena. One thing is sure: With each new project, Beyoncé raises the bar higher. Read the full article

NFL Football Team Cocktails - Drinks For Every Roster
Game Day Drinks And Cocktails For All 32 NFL Football Teams
Football season means great tailgate parties away at the stadium for home games and at your in home bar for away games when your team is on road. These NFL football team inspired cocktails* will give you lots of game day party ideas for themed drinks for all 32 NFL teams out on the gridiron.
The cocktails were chosen based on a number of factors including team names, colors, mascots, player and squad nicknames as well as city, regional and state monikers, landmarks, festivals and more. A few were created as signature drinks for specific football teams, but most were added to the roster because they were a good fit for that club.
Whether its pre-season scrimmages, regular season games or the playoffs; Wild Card, Divisional, Conference and the Superbowl, there's a drink listed here that's perfect for your pigskin party. Some of the squads have several symbolic sips which lets you substitute your drink line-up based on the schedule.
So, with one hand waving your favorite team's foam finger shouting you're #1 and the other hand free for a refreshment, the only question is:
Are You Ready For Some NFL Football Team Cocktails?
American Football Conference Team Themed Drinks
AFC East
Buffalo Bills:
Buffalo Bill - equal parts apple cider or juice and bourbon or rye whiskey.
Niagara Falls - a fancy drink named after the natural attraction nearby the city along the Canadian border.
Miami Dolphins:
Mojito - the national drink of Cuba is a favorite in Little Havana as well as one of the most popular cocktails in Florida and throughout the rest of the states.
New England Patriots:
New England Highball - when it comes to cocktails, what's better than a highball while watching football?
Red, White and Blue - a pousse-cafe drink layered in patriotic colors.
New York Jets:
Manhattan - along with Brooklyn has the highest concentration of fans according to a 2013 Facebook study.
Bronx - followed by Queens borough, the former home of Shea stadium, also love the J-E-T-S. This drink is basically an Income Tax cocktail minus the bitters.
AFC North
Baltimore Ravens:
Purple Hooter - black raspberry liqueur colors these tailgate party potations plum perfect.
Cincinnati Bengals:
Bengal Tiger - the namesake is a tawny, red brandy drink while an original recipe adds black licorice stripes to an orange vodka cocktail that could be a spooky sip on Halloween too.
Cincinnati Cocktail - fill your favorite beer glass half full with a bold brew and top off with soda water.
Cleveland Browns:
Brown Cocktail - equal parts gin, light or dark rum and dry vermouth.
Brown Derby Drink - legendary football coach Paul Brown who the NFL team is named after was known for wearing his iconic hat on the gridiron sidelines. It was a fedora, but the (brown) derby is de rigueur.
Brown University Cocktail - their namesake college football team drink would love to be drafted by pros for game day. The “Brunonian” is equal parts bourbon and dry vermouth with a couple dashes of orange bitters.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Black & Gold - refining iron ore put this steel town on the grid. Their NFL football team inspired gridiron drink adds a precious metal to the mix. Combine black vodka with gold flaked cinnamon schnapps two to one.
Monongahela Cobbler - named for one of the waterways which flows past Heinz Field (formerly Three Rivers Stadium) that's known for its rye whiskey.
AFC South
Houston Texans:
Black Gold - a nod to the city's former franchise, the Houston Oilers.
Longhorn - another college sports team themed cocktail that would like to be drafted by the NFL, especially from the same great state and mascot. The burnt orange color of the University of Texas at Austin inspired this recipe with lemon rum, orange rum, vodka, orange vodka, orange soda, ice and oranges.
Indianapolis Colts:
Horse's Neck - this drink is named after its garnish.
Jacksonville Jaguars:
Jaguar - a Barina Craft original drink recipe that is spotted with southern sipping favorites.
Tennessee Titans:
Lynchburg Lemonade - Tennessee whiskey, sweet & sour mix, orange liqueur and lemon-lime soda makes a southern sip worth suing the distillery over.
Tennessee Tea - same as above, just substitute cola for lemon-lime soda.
AFC West
Denver Broncos:
Orange Crush - this NFL football team inspired drink celebrates the nickname given to Denver's opponent crushing 3-4 defense and the Broncos bright colored home uniform jerseys in the 1970s.
Kansas City Chiefs:
Arrowhead Cocktails - the Chiefs' logo is carved in stone and one of these drinks is cherry.
Kansas City Ice Water - flows thru the fountains at Arrowhead stadium and in the veins of the players and fans who as of this writing boast the loudest sports crowd roar.
Las Vegas Raiders:
Casino Cocktails - now that the team is located in the Entertainment Capital of the World, famous for gambling and other activities throughout all the city's mega casino-hotels, these drinks are a sure bet for Raiders fans.
Oakland Raider Cocktail - a black rum and cola mixed with a shot of silver tequila over ice. This silver and black drink symbolizes Raider Nation whether they're playing in Oakland, Los Angeles or Las Vegas.
Los Angeles Chargers:
Charger Cocktail - toast the team's moniker to 'charge' when the bugle call sounds with this cherry brandy and rum sour.
San Diego Seabreeze - this legacy drink preserves team history. 1 oz vodka, ½ oz each blackberry brandy and blueberry & raspberry schnapps, plus 2 oz each orange and pineapple juice in a tall collins glass over ice.
National Football Conference Team Themed Drinks
NFC East
Dallas Cowboys:
Cowboy Cocktail - throw the cream away and drink the shot of whiskey straight up.
Fedora Cocktail - in honor of their legendary head coach Tom Landry who wore his heralded headgear on the sidelines for 29 seasons.
Thanksgiving Cocktails - dubbed America's team, they always play football on this holiday.
New York Giants:
The New York Cocktail - the entire state loves the NY Football Giants, except for parts of the city per Facebook 2013. This is an interesting whiskey sour style drink with rye, lime juice, grenadine and an old fashioned sugar cube.
Philadelphia Eagles:
Eagle Cocktail - Philly is the perfect roosting place for this classic drink.
Eagle's Dream - sugar and egg whites substitute for maraschino liqueur in this variation of the Aviation drink recipe.
Washington Commanders:
Cherry Blossom - this national flowering festival held locally is closely associated with the area as is a rumored story of a namesake founding father chopping down a certain tree.
Gin Rickey - “air conditioning in a glass” is the unofficial official drink of D.C.
Political Cocktails - any number of these drinks could be served at a game day party in this city if you want to mix politics with religion, er, football that is.
NFC North (Black and Blue Division)
Chicago Bears:
The Chicago Cocktail - pretty fancy for football but it is the city's namesake drink.
Detroit Lions:
Lion's Tail - Detroit is one of two NFL teams along with Dallas to always play a game on Thanksgiving to start the Xmas holidays so the use of an allspice liqueur, dubbed “Christmas in a glass” by Murray Stenson, in combination with the drink's name make this cocktail a perfect match. 2 oz bourbon, ½ oz each pimento dram and lime juice, ½ tsp simple syrup and 1 dash aromatic bitters.
Green Bay Packers:
Blood and Sand - Johnny ‘Blood’ McNally, who took his nickname from the movie and loved to sing Galway Bay while standing up on bar table tops, was a star player for four championship Packer teams in Green Bay and one of the original members inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.
Brandy Old Fashioned - to wet your whistle in Wisconsin, just replace the bourbon or rye you normally use in the recipe.
Minnesota Vikings:
Purple People Eater Elixir - raise your Viking drinking horn and toast possibly the best defensive line of any football team in NFL history.
Scandinavian Glogg - this Nordic mulled wine really packs a punch.
NFC South
Atlanta Falcons:
Georgia Peach Cocktails - did you know some suggested the Falcons be christened after the official state fruit?
Scarlett O'Hara & Rhett Butler - these two drinks are both named after characters in Gone With The Wind which was set in and around Atlanta.
Carolina Panthers:
Carolina Iced Tea - spiced rum, vodka and both peach liqueur & schnapps along with some southern style sweet tea in a tall glass or mason jar.
New Orleans Saints:
Sazerac - the official drink of New Orleans often referred to as America's oldest cocktail.
Vieux Carré - the signature drink of the French Quarter named after the “old square” at the center of the Crescent City.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Bumbo - a pirate's poison.
Filibuster - although its more closely associated with politics these days, the word originally derives from the Dutch term vrijbuiter for pirate, which means "to plunder," where vrij means "free" and buiter means "booty."
NFC West
Arizona Cardinals:
Cardinal Cocktail - a Kir drink variation also known as Communard which substitutes red wine for white.
Los Angeles Rams:
Greatest Show On Turf - a nickname for the team's record breaking offense during the 1999 through 2001 National Football League seasons when they were the Saint Louis Rams.
Ram Cocktail - seems appropriate that the helmet battering Rams namesake drink is a variation of a Harvey Wallbanger.
San Francisco 49ers:
Barbary Coast Cocktails - a pair of pigskin party picks named after the city's seedy, crime ridden, red-light district during the California gold rush and beyond. One drink has equal parts gin, scotch whisky, white chocolate creme de cacao and light cream or half and half. The other is mixed with dry gin, cherry brandy, lemon juice and grenadine.
Frisco Sour - the tasteless moniker given to this gold drink garnished with a red cherry which matches the football team colors.
Seattle Seahawks:
Emerald City - a signature drink for this city with the blue green nickname whose major league football, baseball and soccer teams all sport these colors.

2020 NFL schedule released – Tom Brady to face Drew Brees’ Saints in Buccaneers debut
Tom Brady’s new football life will begin with a bang. His Tampa Bay Buccaneers will open the regular season against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, one of the early highlights of the 2020 NFL schedule, as announced Thursday night.
The game will pit two of the best players in NFL history and mark the first time that both starting quarterbacks are at least 40 years old. Brees, 41, and Brady, who will be 43 when the season begins, have played against each other only five times, but they are now divisional rivals in the NFC South. They rank No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the NFL in passing yards, passing touchdowns and completions.
The Buccaneers and Saints will play in New Orleans in the late Sunday national window at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sept. 13. The Buccaneers also have been scheduled for the maximum number of prime-time games (five), including three consecutively in Weeks 7-9, a reflection of the excitement in Tampa surrounding Brady and fellow newcomer Rob Gronkowski.
2 Related
Meanwhile, Brady’s former team — the New England Patriots — will host the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. That matchup could feature the first career starts of Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham and Dolphins rookie Tua Tagovailoa.
But before Tagovailoa, Stidham, Brees or Brady make their regular-season debuts, the NFL will stage its annual kickoff classic on Sept. 10 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs, winners of Super Bowl LIV, will host the Houston Texans in a rematch of their 2019 divisional playoff game. On that memorable day, the Chiefs overcame a 24-0 second-quarter deficit to beat Houston 51-31.
The NFL announced its schedule in anticipation of playing a typically timed season despite the coronavirus pandemic. Commissioner Roger Goodell, however, told teams in a memo this week that adjustments will be made if necessary.
“We will continue to make our decisions based on the latest medical and public health advice, in compliance with government regulations, and with appropriate safety protocols to protect the health of our fans, players, club and league personnel, and our communities,” Goodell said in a statement Thursday night.
Other highlights of the 2020 schedule include:
Are you ready for some football? If so, pick the games you want to attend and check out Vivid Seats inventory to see if anything is in your price range.
Disclaimer: Vivid Seats is ESPN’s ticketing partner and ESPN gets a commission on any sales driven through this link.
• A Friday afternoon game on Christmas Day, when the Minnesota Vikings will play at the Saints. The NFL most recently played a Friday game in 2009, and it has scheduled a total of 10 regular-season games on a Friday since the 1970 merger.
• In addition to the Christmas Day contest, the Saints have four games scheduled for prime time. Of their remaining 11 games, seven are scheduled for the late-afternoon Sunday window. The Christmas Day matchup could be the final career home game for Brees, who has an agreement to join NBC as a broadcaster after retirement.
• The Thanksgiving Day tripleheader will feature the Texans at the Detroit Lions (12:30 p.m. ET), followed by the Washington Redskins at the Dallas Cowboys (4:30 p.m. ET) and the Baltimore Ravens at the Pittsburgh Steelers (8:20 p.m. ET).
• Buccaneers fans will have their first chance to watch Brady at his new home when the Carolina Panthers visit Tampa in Week 2.
• No. 1 draft pick Joe Burrow will have the opportunity to debut as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback at home against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1.
• The Las Vegas Raiders will begin on the road at Carolina before opening their new home in Week 2 against the Saints on Monday Night Football.
• As reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, every team shares the same bye week as its Week 2 opponent, a twist that could help with rescheduling games if the NFL is forced to push back the start of the season. Any week of the season could serve as Week 1, according to Schefter.
• The NFL designated five Sunday games in Weeks 15 and 16 for a possible shift to Saturday. Up to three games will be moved, with notice given to fans and the public no later than four weeks prior to game day.
• In their first season at Allegiant Field, the Raiders will have four prime-time games at home: in Week 2 against the Saints on Monday Night Football, Week 7 against the Buccaneers, Week 11 against the Chiefs and Week 15 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
• The Vikings will play at the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5, making Minnesota the first team since the 1970 merger to play a nondivisional opponent on the road in three consecutive seasons. In all, the Seahawks have won their past four games at home against the Vikings. They last lost at home to the Vikings in 2006.
• The NFL will celebrate its 100th birthday on Sept. 17 with a Thursday night matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns.

Marshawn Lynch again in Seattle?! Focus on a pair of Christmas miracle.
This signing makes complete sense, brooding about the Seahawks foremost a operating again immoral. Like proper immoral. They lost three RBs to well-known wound throughout the final month -- Rashaad Penny (knee), Chris Carson (hip) and C.J. Prosise (arm) -- and heading into the postseason without an established backfield likelihood is now not if truth be told an likelihood for a team that relies so intently on the ground attack. When Lynch takes the discipline Sunday evening in opposition to the San Francisco 49ers, this would had been 1,505 days since he final performed in a game with the Seahawks. The Emerald City reunion comes after Lynch's initial 2016 retirement and then two seasons with the Oakland Raiders (2017-18).
I level-headed judge the Seahawks ought to've given me a call, but I'm all in on "Beast Mode" being again in Seattle.
The total injuries maintain left a broad void in the Seahawks' offense. The backfield trio of Carson, Penny and Prosise -- alongside with injured tight dwell Will Dissly (Achilles) -- has accounted for 80.9 p.c of Seattle's speeding manufacturing. Presently ranking fifth in speeding yards this season with 1,230, Carson shall be demanding to interchange, as his laborious-nosed operating model supplied balance on an offense that choices MVP candidate Russell Wilson. In actual fact, Carson boasts the third-most compelled passed over tackles (62) and yards won after contact (1,008) in the NFL, in response to Pro Soccer Focal level.
So, what does Lynch level-headed maintain left in the tank? From 2011 through 2015, he registered 300 compelled passed over tackles, the most in the league throughout that span. That equated to Lynch shrugging off a defender on 23.2 p.c of his carries, furthermore an NFL excessive. Will he be the comparable operating again this time around? Or no longer it is no longer probably because or no longer it is a half of-decade later and Lynch is 33 years primitive. That acknowledged, in response to Lynch's fresh snarl routine, I assemble no longer maintain any doubt he'll be ready to provide the offense with an efficient speeding attack.
Regardless of how long Lynch has been out of the sport, his reputation and history of operating over would-be tacklers will force defenses to respect him. He's a quality operating again who will fit the invoice and slide correct trusty into a smartly-recognized offense. He'll get back from Robert Turbin, who furthermore signed this week, but request Lynch to earn a bulk of the carries.
"He used to be very brooding about making ready for this likelihood," Carroll suggested journalists Tuesday. "And the stroke of ache, in some regards, if truth be told opens up the door, which happens now and then, and he is ready to grab the plump different at hand and jam what he can assemble to again us."
One other broad relieve the Seahawks earn from bringing the five-time Pro Bowler again into the fold: His presence in the locker room. Lynch is the form of player who can present a spark and rally his teammates, and it comes on the correct time. The Seahawks (11-4) maintain an different to grab the NFC West with a grasp over rival San Francisco at home in Sunday's Week 17 finale. Beast Mode has the merchandise to again earn it done. And who's conscious of? Per chance Lynch and the 'Hawks can end the chapter on their unfinished Enormous Bowl swap in February.
Now, let's earn to the weekly rankings ...
Ragged NFL speeding chief and NFL Community analyst Maurice Jones-Drew will interrogate all operating backs and horrid his TOP 10 every week for the closing month of the 2019 season. His rankings are in response to this season's efforts alone. Right here is MJD's checklist heading into Week 17.
NOTE: Arrows maintain adjustments from final week's rankings.

2019 stats: 15 video games | 278 att | 1,361 crawl yds | 4.9 ypc | 14 crawl TDs | 109 rec | 933 rec yds | 4 rec TDs
McCaffrey's numbers keep up a correspondence for themselves. The indisputable truth that he is 216 yards from topping Chris Johnson's scrimmage yards file is magnificent nice. Or no longer it is no longer going to be easy to assemble in opposition to an ethical Saints' protection, but if anybody can assemble it, or no longer it is Creep CMC.
2019 stats: 15 video games | 285 att | 1,453 crawl yds | 5.1 ypc | 8 crawl TDs | 35 rec | 277 rec yds | 0 rec TDs
Despite one amongst his worst outings of the season, Chubb's been nice in 2019. He leads the league in crawl yards, and my bet is he'll grasp that title brooding about his closing opponent is the Bengals' 28th-ranked crawl protection. If handiest every share of the Browns used to be as productive as the second-year again.
2019 stats: 15 video games | 283 att | 1,235 crawl yds | 4.4 ypc | 11 crawl TDs | 51 rec | 418 rec yds | 1 rec TD
What a disappointing season for the Cowboys, who're on the open air of the playoff image having a see in after losing to Philadelphia final week. To overtake the Eagles, the Cowboys must grasp in opposition to the Redskins and need the Eagles to drop to the Giants. Or no longer it is indubitably doable and the most efficient components to assemble so is counting on their simplest player -- one thing they forgot to assemble in Week 16.
2019 stats: 14 video games | 271 att | 1,329 crawl yds | 4.9 ypc | 13 crawl TDs | 18 rec | 206 rec yds | 2 rec TDs
Henry did now not play in Week 16 due to the a hamstring wound but is anticipated to swimsuit up Sunday in opposition to the Houston Texans. Thanks to a Pittsburgh loss final weekend, the Titans are in the driver's seat for the closing station in the AFC playoff image and could earn a boost from a nicely-rested Henry, who's known for his tiresome-season success.
2019 stats: 15 video games | 211 att | 984 crawl yds | 4.7 ypc | 16 crawl TDs | 47 rec | 431 rec yds | 3 rec TDs
When Aaron Jones fumbled on the Packers' opening force in opposition to the Vikings on Monday, I believed the young operating again would maintain one amongst those extra or much less days. It looks he did maintain one amongst those extra or much less days -- a 150-yard, two-TD day! He confirmed up in a broad components for his team -- and delusion football householders -- to again the Packers reclaim the NFC North. He's been one amongst the riding forces of Green Bay's resurgence as Jones leads the NFL in crawl TDs (16) and scrimmage TDs (19) this season.
2019 stats: 14 video games | 203 att | 789 crawl yds | 3.9 ypc | 12 crawl TDs | 29 rec | 186 rec yds | 2 rec TDs
In Week 16's loss to the 49ers, Gurley had his second-straight game with fewer than 20 touches and the Rams were 0-2 in those video games. Satirically, in video games were 3-0 in this season when Gurley had a minimal of 20 touches. That magnificent noteworthy sums up the season for a Rams team that passed over the postseason a year eradicated from a Enormous Bowl appearance.
2019 stats: 15 video games | 202 att | 1,018 crawl yds | 5.0 ypc | 10 crawl TD | 26 rec | 247 rec yds | 5 rec TDs
With 55 yards on eight carries (6.9 yards per raise), Ingram surpassed 1,000 speeding yards for the third time in the final four seasons. The difficulty helped the Ravens lock up the head seed in the AFC, and as a end result, it looks as even supposing Ingram will earn two weekends off to enhance from an injured calf. What a solid first campaign in Baltimore for the old.
2019 stats: 13 video games | 163 att | 758 crawl yds | 4.7 ypc | 3 crawl TDs | 79 rec | 515 rec yds | 1 rec TD
Kamara received again into the tip zone final week for the first time since Week 3 to again the Saints complete a comeback grasp on the avenue. The Saints operating again, who suffered lower physique injuries earlier in the season, at final regarded explosive again as he ripped off a 40-yard landing crawl in the third. That is the Alvin Kamara the Saints need heading into the postseason.
2019 stats: 15 video games | 252 att | 975 crawl yds | 3.9 ypc | 3 crawl TDs | 34 rec | 273 rec yds | 3 rec TDs
The Bengals' fourth-quarter comeback to force beyond standard time in opposition to the Miami Dolphins used to be impressive to deliver the least. But in case you would even be trailing by two rankings earlier than the initiate of the second quarter, that's it (or end to) for the operating again. Finishing that game with 50 crawl yards, Mixon has an different to attain the season on a excessive expose in opposition to the Browns on Sunday.
2019 stats: 7 video games | 111 att | 583 crawl yds | 5.3 ypc | 7 crawl TDs | 25 rec | 148 rec yds | 0 rec TDs
Drake deserves mention after logging six crawl touchdowns in the final two weeks, main the Cardinals to victories over Cleveland and playoff-certain Seattle. He's confirmed to be a nice fit in Kliff Kingsbury's offense and ought to be in the backfield with Kyler Murray for years but to advance again.
Upright passed over: Josh Jacobs, Raiders; Devin Singletary, Funds; Miles Sanders, Eagles.

The 8 dumbest mistakes from NFL Week 16, ranked
Baker Mayfield got his own teammate injured, Vernon Butler punched the wrong person, and in the NFC East, as Hans Gruber would say, “Do you really think you have a chance against us, Mr. Cowboy?”
Santa gifted NFL fans an early present on Saturday of Week 16, when each game of a triple-header was increasingly more exciting than the last. All three results were pivotal to the playoff race too. The Texans won the AFC South for the fourth time in five years, the Patriots won the AFC East for the 1,100th time in the last 20 years, and the 49ers kept their No. 1 seed hopes alive.
It was fun, watchable, and even if the ending was predictable, there was still meaning behind it all. Kind of like the NFL’s version Home Alone, minus Macaulay Culkin (this year, anyway).
What Saturday’s games didn’t deliver on, however, was anyone stepping on nails or setting their hair on fire, figuratively speaking. Well, other than the turnover-fest that Texans-Bucs quickly devolved into, but whenever Jameis Winston takes the field, that’s implied at this point, right?
Luckily, there were plenty of missteps to go around Sunday. The results of the games were slightly less predictable, but there were also some heart-pounding moments (from the Dolphins-Bengals and Giants-Washington, no less!) and some straight-up carnage (mostly, the Cowboys’ dignity). Kind of like NFL’s version of Die Hard, minus Reginald VelJohnson.
Does everyone else want to marathon Christmas movies now? Yeah, us too. But first, let’s gather around the yule log and toast to Week 16’s eight dumbest mistakes:
8. The Seahawks’ cowardly punt set the tone early against the Cardinals
Nobody is going to argue that a punt in the first quarter ultimately decided the course of that game. But what it can do is set the tone for the next three quarters, especially when one team has so much on the line.
While the Seahawks have already clinched a spot in the postseason, and the NFC West comes down to their Week 17 game against the 49ers, there is still the matter of seeding — and that means they needed a win against the Cardinals on Sunday.
They did not get one. More than that, they had one of the most cowardly punts of the season. From the Arizona 39-yard-line on fourth-and-7 late in the first quarter of a tie game, the Seahawks punted.
SEA decided to punt to ARI from the ARI 39 on 4th & 7 with 3:51 remaining in the 1st while tied 7 to 7. With a Surrender Index of 15.42, this punt ranks at the 97th percentile of cowardly punts of the 2019 season, and the 95th percentile of all punts since 2009.
— Surrender Index 90 (@surrender_idx90) December 22, 2019
It’s also worth noting the punt came after a delay of game penalty. They could have attempted a field goal like they had planned before the penalty, or just gone for it with Russell Wilson. But nope, Pete Carroll decided to punt. The Seahawks wouldn’t sniff the Cardinals’ side of the field again until late in the third quarter, and they would go on to lose, 27-13.
7. The Saints ran a great fake punt (until Justin Hardee dropped it)
New Orleans had overcome an early 14-3 deficit to take a 31-28 lead in Nashville. However, a fourth-and-7 at the Titans’ 38-yard line threatened to hand the ball back to Tennessee with a little more than four minutes remaining for a potential game-winning drive.
Head coach Sean Peyton had other plans. Instead of a punt, he had the ball snapped to upman/third-string quarterback Taysom Hill. Hill rolled to his left and delivered a perfect pass to defensive back Justin Hardee just over the first-down line.
And Hardee showed us all why he plays defense, not offense:
Justin Hardee is gonna be sick about this one pic.twitter.com/1CLkhlwBy9
— Christian D'Andrea (@TrainIsland) December 22, 2019
That gave the Titans the ball close to midfield, but Tennessee couldn’t capitalize. Khalif Raymond fumbled the ball back to the Saints the very next play after taking a hit that probably should have been flagged for unnecessary roughness for contact with a ballcarrier’s head.
6. Mike Vrabel challenged a play he had no chance of winning
Logan Ryan made a great play to break up Drew Brees’ pass to Michael Thomas early in the third quarter of his game against the Saints. It just wasn’t as good as Vrabel thought.
Ryan knocked the ball from Thomas’ hands, leaving the ball bobbling in the air as the two players jousted for position before it fell to the turf. Officials correctly ruled the play an incompletion, but that wasn’t good enough for Vrabel.
hours later and i'm still trying to figure out why Mike Vrabel challenged this incomplete pass ruling pic.twitter.com/d514cFxmV8
— Christian D'Andrea (@TrainIsland) December 23, 2019
The replay left no doubt about the outcome of the play. The officials had gotten it right; there was no chance it could be a fumble or an interception — it wasn’t even close. All Vrabel had done was burn a timeout and a challenge while gifting New Orleans a free timeout before facing third-and-12. The Saints converted that long third down en route to a 70-yard touchdown drive and a 24-14 lead.
5. Baker Mayfield nearly got his running back killed
During the Browns’ 31-15 loss to the Ravens on Sunday, Mayfield threw a late pass to Dontrell Hilliard that caused his running back to get absolutely lit up when he made the catch. Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters was screaming toward Hilliard when Mayfield threw this ball:
Baker Mayfield just set Dontrell Hilliard up with an ambulance pass pic.twitter.com/ivqzMxTgWD
— Christian D'Andrea (@TrainIsland) December 22, 2019
Right after the play, Hilliard left the game with a knee injury and did not return.
There’s a lot that’s gone wrong for the Browns this season — this is just another one to add to the list.
4. Mitchell Trubisky threw a 3-yard pass on fourth-and-23
The Bears didn’t have much of a shot trailing the Chiefs by 20 points with less than eight minutes to play Sunday night. That doesn’t mean Trubisky shouldn’t at least have tried to pick up fourth-and-really-long.

— Christian D'Andrea (@TrainIsland) December 23, 2019
Jay Cutler is the Bears quarterback that gets crap for never caring, but this was a “f—- it” moment that may eclipse all others in Chicago.
3. The refs gave Odell Beckham a 15-yard penalty for waving at the Ravens’ sideline
The Browns took an early lead against the AFC-leading Ravens thanks to Baker Mayfield’s revitalized passing game. Beckham played a role in that surprising start — but his 22-yard catch in the first quarter was turned into a 7-yard net because ... uh, he, waved at some Baltimore players?
this was a 15-yard penalty for Odell Beckham, somehow pic.twitter.com/YtDXV8rfA9
— Christian D'Andrea (@TrainIsland) December 22, 2019
C’mon, refs.
The flag was Beckham’s first unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of the day, which also meant another flag for excessive friendliness could’ve forced him out of the game — a point that apparently led to a heated exchange between Beckham and Freddie Kitchens.
2. Panthers DT Vernon Butler punched a player — the wrong one, at that
Butler managed to make two dumb mistakes in one play. First and foremost, he punched someone. Not only is it an easy way to injure your hand, but Butler also got an ejection for doing it.
The second mistake what that his game-ending tantrum was directed at the wrong player. He punched Colts tight end Jack Doyle for zero reason.
Vernon Butler ejected for punching Jack Doyle #Colts #KeepPounding pic.twitter.com/cCr7eJ7Pyh
— Roto Street Journal (@RotoStJournal) December 22, 2019
The only explanation for the right cross delivered to Doyle’s face is that Butler got the tight end confused with the offensive lineman he was tussling with seconds earlier.
Butler was the Panthers’ first-round pick in 2016, but he has barely cracked the starting lineup in four seasons. His time in Carolina was already coming to an end and his lack of composure in Week 16 isn’t going to do him any favors when he’s hunting for a new team.
1. The Cowboys really took their top WR out with the season on the line
All the Cowboys needed to do was beat the Eagles, and they’d be in the playoffs. Similarly, all the Eagles had to do was beat the Cowboys and they’d be in control of the NFC East.
Despite the Eagles leading all game, the Cowboys still had a chance to win late. Then came the iffy decision-making that we’re used to from Jason Garrett.
Trailing 17-9 (one score) in the fourth quarter, Dallas faced a fourth-and-8. Instead of Amari Cooper, a 1,000-yard receiver and Dak Prescott’s favorite target, lining up for what would ultimately become Dallas’ final offensive snap of the game, he was ... on the sideline.
In his place was Tavon Austin, who has 12 catches on the season, because:
A #Cowboys source disputes the notion WR Amari Cooper was benched. Instead they wanted to give Tavon Austin a shot at the DBs because Eagles having hard time w smaller quick guys. They got in hurry up mode so they had to wait to put Cooper back in. “Rotation change, not bench.”
— Jane Slater (@SlaterNFL) December 23, 2019
On the fourth-down play — with another veteran receiver, Randall Cobb, on the bench as well — Prescott threw a fade to Michael Gallup:
Fourth down and eight to go, Dak throws deep to Gallup and Sidney Jones tips the ball away! pic.twitter.com/W8R9SrUMr2
— DIE-HARD Fans (@Eaglesfans9) December 23, 2019
And that was it for the Cowboys in Week 16 — and probably the season.
It feels silly to keep your rotation going with the entire season on the line, no? Cooper should never have left the field. Nobody can say for sure that Cooper would have made a huge play that would have saved Dallas’ season. After all, he and Prescott failed to find a rhythm all day, connecting on just four of 12 targets.
But to not even get the opportunity is just downright negligent.
Cooper later insinuated that the coaches didn’t know what they were doing (accurate):
Amari Cooper seemed to question the coaching staff for his ineffectiveness. When I asked his explanation, Cooper talked about all the short routes he ran and then said, “I feel like the go ball was a good route to run tonight and we didn’t really get to it.’’
— Ed Werder (@WerderEdESPN) December 23, 2019
That’s how a team with elite talent, one of the most efficient offenses, and a +82 point differential ends up 7-8, with its playoff hopes resting on the Giants pulling an upset.
Perhaps the NFC East crown simply pulled a John McClane and decided, “But, all things being equal, I’d rather be in Philadelphia.”

2017 NFL schedule: Here's the early scoop on the who, where and when
yahoo
The NFL will kick off the 2017 season on Sept. 7 with the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on opening night, and the 256-game regular-season slate concludes on New Year’s Eve, likely with two division rivals battling it out — a matchup to be flexed in at a later date — with a spot in the postseason hanging in the balance.
The league released the 2017 NFL schedule in its entirety officially on Thursday night, and now the fun and the planning begin for the quest to Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium on Feb. 4.
The Patriots return to the field for the first time in Tom Brady’s age-40 season with the 12th-hardest schedule by opponents’ win percentage, and they carry a 10-game win streak (including playoffs) into a tough opening game against a Chiefs team that won the AFC West a year ago with a 12-4 mark. Later in the season, the Patriots will play five games on the road in a six-game stretch — one that includes a Week 11 game against the Oakland Raiders in Mexico City in what could be a terrific showdown of AFC powerhouses.
The New England Patriots will kick off the 2017 NFL season against the Kansas City Chiefs. (AP)
The rematch for Super Bowl LI — yes, the greatest comeback in SB history — against the Atlanta Falcons comes in Week 7 in Foxborough in a prime-time game at Gillette Stadium on Sunday night, Oct. 22. After Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera complained this past season about having to face the Denver Broncos in the season opener last year, the league appeared willing to cut the runners-up a break and not schedule Falcons at Patriots in Week 1.
The Falcons open their new home field, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with a game against the Green Bay Packers — a rematch of the NFC title game — assuming construction on their new digs is completed by then, otherwise they’ll have to go back next door to the old haunt. The Falcons will open on the road, however, in a Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
The rest of the Week 1 slate appears strong with a terrific battle of NFC heavyweights, the Seattle Seahawks and Packers, meeting at Lambeau Field at 4:25 ET on Fox. This one has it all: Aaron Rodgers vs. Russell Wilson … the Eddie Lacy reunion game … and we can’t wait for the brothers showdown of the Bennett Boys — Seattle’s Michael against Martellus, who signed with Green Bay in the offseason.
The three other Week 1 prime-time matchups after the Thursday opener: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (NBC) on Sunday night; New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings for the early Monday night game; and the Los Angeles Chargers — their first game after moving this offseason — at Denver Broncos for the second game of the Monday doubleheader, with the latter two games both on ESPN.
The longest current losing streak currently belongs to the Los Angeles Rams at seven games, followed by their new crosstown rivals, the Chargers, at five straight losses to end the 2016 season. The Chargers will open in their new city — though not permanent home — at the 30,000-seat StubHub Center against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2 in the first NFL game at the venue.
We’ve known the NFL’s London matchups for some time, but we now know when those games will be played:
Week 3: Baltimore Ravens vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, at Wembley Stadium
Week 4: New Orleans Saints vs. Miami Dolphins; at Wembley Stadium
Week 7: Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams; Twickenham Stadium
Week 8: Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns; Twickenham Stadium
Those will all be 9:30 a.m. ET, except for the Cardinals-Rams game.
Jumping forward a few months, Thanksgiving offers three good helpings: Vikings at Detroit Lions for the early game; Chargers at Dallas Cowboys for the middle game; and New York Giants at Washington Redskins for the late meal ticket.
There will be a pair of Saturday games each in Week 15 (Bears at Lions; Chargers at Chiefs) and Week 16 (Indianapolis Colts at Ravens; Vikings at Packers). In addition, Week 16 falls on Christmas weekend — 12 games on Sunday, which is Christmas Eve, and two more (Pittsburgh Steelers at Houston Texans; Raiders at Philadelphia Eagles) on Christmas proper.
For many, however, the NFL schedule release day is the real Christmas. We now know where and when the next 256 games will be played.

This season ushers in a new phase for the Raiders, who moved to their new home in Las Vegas this offseason. The team will make its regular season Sin City home debut in Week 2 on Sept. 21st, in a Monday Night Football matchup against the Saints.
However, the Raiders aren't the only team with a new venue. The Chargers and Rams will share SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles starting in 2020. The Rams open their season at home on Sunday Night Football on Sept. 1st against the Cowboys. The Chargers don't play a home regular season game until Week 3 in a matchup with the Raiders.
Tom Brady and the Buccaneers will make five primetime appearances in 2020, the maximum number of primetime games a team can play. They open their season at 4:25 p.m. ET at the New Orleans Saints.
The New England Patriots will host the Miami Dolphins in Week 1 for their first game without Brady on their roster since they picked him in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft.
Among other schedule notes, the NFL will play its first Friday game since 2009 this season when the Vikings travel to the Saints on Christmas Day. New Orleans has another four games scheduled for primetime.
The Thanksgiving Day triple-header features the Texans at the Lions, Washington at the Cowboys and the Ravens at the Steelers.
Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, marks the final day of the regular season. The playoffs start on the weekend of Jan. 9-10 with the Wild Card Playoff Round. This year's playoffs will expand to 14 teams as part of the new collective bargaining agreement reached in March.
Super Bowl LV is currently scheduled for Feb. 7, 2021, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. That date—or any of the above dates—could change if the season has to be adjusted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
